Abstract. A stopped-flow apparatus for studying chemiluminescent reactions has been designed for use in undergraduate chemistry courses. The apparatus can be used to make quantitative measurements on light-emitting species and on added materials that interfere with the emission of light. Its advantages are: ease of construction and maintenance, low cost, and its straightforward nature, which helps to ensure that students understand the principles of the method.
