The syntheses of bis(diethyldithiocarbamato)copper(II) and tris(diethyldithiocarbamato)iron(III) are reported. The compounds are characterized by IR, UV–vis, magnetic susceptibility, and thermal analysis. Thermogravimetric analysis and differential scanning calorimetry give insight into the thermal degradation of these compounds to sulfide and oxide derivatives of the metals.
