06269-3060, Carl.David@uconn.edu Published online: 13 February 2004 Abstract. The angular dependence of the overlap between adjacent p orbitals is derived. Using a single coordinate system for two orbitals is discussed, so that actual overlap integrals can be evaluated. This leads to understanding of how nuclear coordinates impinge on the forms of the associated electron orbitals.
