Abstract. An integrated degree program in environmental science with an emphasis on chemistry has been developed and implemented at the University of Iowa. The interdisciplinary Bachelor of Science degree program in environmental science involves four disciplinary departments, including Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Geography, and Geoscience.Students who decide to major in this degree program must select an area of emphasis from the following track choices: bioscience, chemical science, geoscience, or hydroscience. The curriculum that the students follow in the chemical science track is described here in detail.
