Abstract. Herein described is a low-cost Dean–Stark trap for the Williamson microscale kit. The apparatus is built from a plastic 1-cc syringe and a piece of pipe cleaner, both of which are commonly used with the Williamson microscale kit. This trap is a significant improvement over the Dean–Stark trap made from a cork and three way adapter, because it allows for measurement of water collected.
