Abstract. Students enter college with a range of motivations and knowledge of career opportunities; however, they often need support to identify their individual strengths and interests. In order for our chemistry students to realize the full potential of the wealth of opportunities available in the chemical and related sciences, the Iona Department of Chemistry has spearheaded a novel program of student education, support, and networking: Career information in Science at Iona College (CSI). Through the CSI program we are helping students develop a strategy that will lead to satisfying career choices. We describe the steps necessary for a predominantly undergraduate institution to replicate the program.
