This paper describes an undergraduate research laboratory assignment that incorporates electrochemistry sensors with engineering concepts, complementing the aspects of STEM, (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). Students were required to solve real world problems that are developed by the Project REEL, (Research Experiences to Enhance Learning). This research assignment introduces students to new instrumentation techniques, Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) and Cyclic Voltammetry (CV) integrated together.
