The addition of F Dr. Agnes Fay Morgan, a Ph.D. chemist from the University of Chicago strengthened the area of Nutrition at UC Berkeley into one of national prominence. This was accomplished by strengthening the science background of dietetic students. Her desire to raise the department to national prominence served as a role model to many women who had an interest in science with no real place to carry out work.
