Abstract. As part of an ongoing study of autotitrator performance based on drop counting technology, design features of the titrant dispensing component affecting drop size uniformity and volumetric delivery rate were investigated. Because counting of delivered liquid drops is a surrogate for volumetric metering of titrant delivery, drop volumes must remain essentially constant throughout the titration procedure, and it is preferable that drops be delivered at a constant rate. A titrant dispenser is described that delivers drops of near constant size at near constant rates.
