The semester long group project was designed for students to research and learn about the chemistry of biomaterials, and use that knowledge to design a device. Students worked in teams, and each team was allowed to continuously make adjustments to their project from newly acquired knowledge from classroom lectures and classroom instructions. Some of the lessons learned from the implementation of the project and the open ended survey at the end of the semester are discussed.
