Charles D. Breslow (1931–2017), Samuel Latham Mitchill Professor of Chemistry
at Columbia University, 1996 American Chemical Society President, and National
Academy of Sciences member died at the age of 86 of cancer on October 25, 2017.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years Esther, Professor Emerita of
Biochemistry at Weill Cornell Medical College, and their daughters Karen and
Stephanie Breslow, his sister Diane Orton, and his grandchildren, nieces, and
nephews.
