the Photoelectric Effect is often poorly understood by students. One solution
to this problem is to explain the Effect by metaphor or analogy. In our
example, the class is led through a short story that aims to help students
understand the connection between light energy and electron ejection.
Impressions from one-on-one interviews indicate that students retain this
intervention after several weeks.
