Advantages of the non-flooded initial reaction rate kinetic procedure over the flooded integrated rate alternative for determining reactant order values are discussed. A non-flooded, colorimetric initial reaction rate procedure is described in which a significant determinate error attributable to the delay in initiating data collection in the customary experimental procedure is eliminated. An enhanced regression routine is included in this procedure for determining initial reaction rate values.
