Abstract. The purpose of this project is to establish a set of demonstrations that can be utilized to stimulate an interest in STEM-related fields amongst school-age children, as well as entertain the general audience. Here in part 1, the common theme relating the demonstrations described is the use of liquid nitrogen as a cryogen. In addition to the procedural descriptions of the demonstrations, a narrative is introduced to enhance the entertainment value of the demonstration show.
