A burette and a simple optical titrant drop counter are shown to fulfill the monitored titrant solution dispensing function of a costly mechanical auto-titrator. A conductometric, potentiometric or photometric sensor to monitor the changing concentration of an analyte solution constituent and the titration operating program complete the experimental setup. A conductometric acid – base titration based on an application of this burette based auto-titrator is described. Advantages of conductometric titration equivalence point detection over the potentiometric alternative are noted and referenced.
